Here are pic's of a Historical marker & a painted 'mural' on a bldg of the J.R. Williams, & steamboat that was ran aground & robbed of it's supplies during the Civil War in OK Terrirory.
During the early days, 'Stand Watie' had a bad beginning, losing several skirmishes against Union forces , but later in the war was a brilliant tactician, & 'guerilla fighter', & one of the last groups to surrender after the war.
This was on the AR river, north of my home.
