Finally, a day off with decent weather and no obligations! I went to a farm house I have driven by for six years on the way to my wife's home town. Got permission from the owner two years ago ( "if the renters don't care" ). The renters seemed to never be home when I went by - or I was in too big a hurry to bother stopping. Finally found someone home in November and they said yes I could come by any time.
So made it there on Dec 29th. After ten minutes and a few scraps, this beauty came up from three inches down and just six feet from the house foundation.
After two more hours of battling the wind, which kept trying to take away my drop cloth, I only got a few memorial cents. My XLT battery was giving out - it is five years old - so that was the end of the day.
BUT NEXT SPRING I WILL BE BACK !

Hoosier,
Great find big guy! Congrats to you. That beats a bird band any day. I'll be up there to help you out this spring.
Good luck on those BC coins. (Before Corn) :tongue3:

Nice find Steve, all I ended up with was a 37-D quarter and your digging Large Cents...I need to hit a couple old houses I've got permission to hit!! Nice way to end 08 and know your 08 will be even better!!

Great find, gotta love the lc's.

Congrats on the LC! I burned my XLT rechargeable pack out within 2 years and rebuilt it with new batteries. If you are electronically inclined I will dig up the post I did on replacing the batteries but it really is much easier to buy a new one. HH, Mike

Thanks Jack. A 37-D quarter is sweet any day. A good 2009 to you too.
