Six wheats, only one Silver -- but it's a good one !
I looked out the window this evening and seen the sunshine peeking through
Since I have been cooped up in the house for the better part of a week and itching to go detecting.
I jumped on the opportunity and grabbed the F75 and thought I would get out and do some coinshooting and get a bit more time under my belt with the F75. I was going over an area that I have detected several times and had found some nice coins but alot of trash.
I started pulling clad and wheats right away then I hit a solid quarter signal, I said to myself where did that come from
It was showing shallow but I thought what the heck it's a quarter. You can imagine my excitement when I pulled the Barber quarter from only 3" down. Dang why was it so shallow. I then got a large iron signal that showed deep and since I have dug some CW bullets from this same spot I thought I would go ahead and dig it. I first thought it was some sort of a heel plate then I flipped it over and saw the attachments on the back, now I'm really confused what this thing is, I've never seen anything like it. I will also post it on the whatzit forum. I also got a lead bar I wonder if the was what soldiers would melt down to make bullets?
This was only the third Barber quarter I have ever dug so I'd say it was a memorable day for me.
