Out early for a 2-hour Sunday AM hunt.

First good target dug was a not-so-flat flat button, plain on boths sides with bent but intact shank. This was down about 6 inches and when I checked the plug there was a modern penny at about 2 inches.

After that, I tried a few test areas, with really nothing but trash, as far as what I was hearing today.

Toward the end of the hunt I had made my way over to the pavilion where I found the two IHPs on Thursday and got a decent repeatable deep signal that turned out to be an 1896 IHP. Some of LIBERTY is still seen, so I think this was dropped after 1900. There definitely some promise for this area that's yielding a few IHPs.

Thanks for checking out the pics.

Happy hunting!

Congrats on your bodacious finds- nothing like the IH pennies anyway thanks for sharing your pictures and story with all of us and I wish you many more great finds while out dirt fishing.

Cool finds, love the IH Cent

Thanks J.Cache! Very happy to have recovered it.

Thanks deershed! These Indians from the west side of the pavilion are coming up in good condition...not much pitting.

Thanks Art. That hillside where I pulled the flat button may have other treasures. Didn't give it much time.

Thanks digger460! I'm with you on the Indians. I keep hoping for that 1877, or an "S" mint. Hey, it could happen :happysmiley:

Nice digs McCDig. I still wish I could find and Indian on public lands. I'm lucky to pull a wheat every now and then.

Congratualtions on the nice finds!
