We hit our 1750’s permission (1st one, I have 2-1750’s permissions) anyway, dug a TON of iron and only one old coin. It’s a cut largie, I put it next to a previously dug example along with the squished croatal bell. I’ll post pictures of the mountain of trash we dug later.

Interesting finding. I wonder if that was cut for a spur rowel?

Nice finds! Too bad for the bell, I like those. Plus, a large cent Ninja throwing star! Don't see those too often.

The rowel idea is a good possibility!

Yeah, It does look like someone may have carved a rowel. I Like the crotal bell too squished a little but a cool find.
Congrats!!

Here’s a picture of the trash (the bucket was 25% full before we started) and a hard cover man purse. It has slots for coins and either initials or fraternal order markings along with the date of 1915 on it. Really strange day oldest whole coin was a wheatie and I dug more iron and trash than I ever care to again.

That's a lot of trash! A couple cool finds, though.

Man, you really got after it! That cut largie is unique. Way to go grinding it out. Some days are like that!

We knew going in that if we ever want to find silver here, we have to remove all the trash. There must be 10,000 square nails there, I’ve been thinking about using my fishing magnet to clear some holes. Where the barn once stood, you’ll find 6 or 8 per hole sooooo we just plug away clearing junk hoping it will pay off

We may never be rich from treasure finds.....but we are gonna BANK in scrap metal! LOL :tongue3:

Wow that is really cool! As you probably know some items were cheaper to make out of large cents so they'd do that instead of go to the store! Probably one of the most unique uses you will see! Nice find!

Wow.... that is a helluvalot of metal! I like the 1915 case. Hope the ground was soft!

Congratulations on the finds, one mans trash is another mans gold.

Those are a couple of nice finds Bob.
