Hello Tnet,

Texas Yankee and I started out by hitting what looked to me like an old dump site , but turned out to be less then that(just roofing materials). So we ventured Into New Mexico since we were right on the border. We had been searching for a dump site for a few months now and yesterday morning we came across a local. He told us of some stuff he has found and of a couple of old dump sites then pointed us in the right direction(thank you). We found one of the sites he was talking about and decided to spend the rest of the day there. It turned out to be a glass bottle dump from around the 1950's. Of course we will be making more trips to find the other dump site and hope it is older then the one we hit. Here are my finds for the day. The ring is a ROY ROGERS. i was happy tho it is in bad shape. the ring and the elephant were my best finds. The coins are cinco centavos from 50's and 60's. thanks for looking. hh gl

That Roy Rogers ring is cool. Congrats on some nice finds.

Sweet. I miss the southwest a lot. One day I'll get back to those old ghost towns in Arizona.

Nice finds. I agree the Roy Rodgers ring is pretty neat. Thanks for sharing,

Oh but wait. lol Yankee tells me it tooo cold for snakes. and what do i see. A freakin snake, not a rattler this time, but it was a SNAKE....It was just as scared as i was and slithered into it hole before i could get a pic. WHEW!!!!

Lmao! Well, he did find a snake so he says...

Yes we did have a slow start but in the end we both had a few decent finds. I thought the new area was okay a little disappointed there was very little purple glass, a hell of a lot of 7up bottles and what not. It looked like late 50's and mid 70's glass.

Well it started with car91rs finding the first ring. You would've thought he found the mother load the way he was hooting and hollering when he found the ring. I said, no way it's just a Roy Rogers ring I found one back at honey hole, lol. He responded "there you go bursting my bubble."

He was now up 3 or 4 coins, a ring and a few marbles. I had to find a ring now that was my goal... And 15 min later I get a med tone within all the high tone trash and pull out a little ring. I tell car91rs and he starts laughing. Well in the end I pull out a few wheats, a 1954 10 yen (Japanese) and a few military pins. All in all it was a good day, but for car91rs it was a great day. Here I am disappointed with the location (to new) and for him it was the spot. I was frustrated by all the hi tones but what made it funny was we kept telling each other to turn down the machine that's how loud our machines were, lol!

At first I thought the ring was silver but after cleaning it, I was almost certain it was gold but now it looks more like bronze. Don't know what the design is any help would be greatly appreciated. One of the pins says Militant. ebay has one and describes it as a vintage Army Air Defense Artillery School pin. The other one I have no idea, if anyone knows please fill us in.
