Sluice Fox moss retainer problem

Hello All,

I just bought a Sluice fox unit with flare. Can somebody suggest way(s) to release the two miner moss retainers? For me pulling the sluice box outwards and simultaneously pressing the pins inwards doesn't work. I've also tried to open it using pry/rotate a small flathead screwdriver as shown in this video , but still no luck.



I've not tried it yet in the field as I just received it, but will it work better in wet condition?
Some people filed out part of these pins so that they can be snapped open or close. Do you recommend that?

Suggestions are most welcome.

I use a flathead screw driver to release the riffles. The more you use it the easier it gets when taking out the riffles.
