Hello folks-
found this octagon bottle yesterday at a old post office site. 0F234F3D-CD01-403A-A7AF-4BB90C4B65F8.jpeg The cap is hard rubber and it threads into the bottle...I am thinking it is more in the 1930’s range. Would anyone care to speculate what this bottle was used for? When filled with liquid you have to shake it like hell to get the liquid to come out. Thanks!

I'd estimate somewhere between 1939 and 1950. I'd guess perfume or cologne or something of that sort, because of its small size, and having to shake it just to get a few drops out.

Awesome, thank you. Just spoke to a lady who said the building was taken down in 1947.
You are right on the money as always

No problem! It could be a little earlier, but not that much earlier, definitely not pre-1930 anyway.

Look for depressions in the ground and see if you can find the old outhouse pit, gotta be some older bottles in there! Probably a bunch of 'em too, I imagine a post office would get lots of traffic.
