My first thoughts were finial, but it just looks weird. Why is there a screw near the top? Any thoughts on what it could have come off of is much obliged.

Looks a little like a door stop

Door stop is the first thing that came to my mind also. Could be way off though.

Mmmm. Why the other screw on a door stop?. Is there a hole at the top?

Those look like machine screw threads, meaning it threaded into something metal and not wood. The screw at the top is sort of peculiar. Maybe something off of a sewing machine?

What happens if you take the screw out completely?
Does the center shaft rotate, or become completely removable?

I haven’t been able to take the screw out, but i was able to remove the bottom part above the thread. It just unscrewed. I’ll upload photos soon.

Does the little nub on the end with the screw in it look to be a separate part? Like maybe it could adjust in and out? It looks like maybe there may have been a piece with a ball joint on that end originally and that the screw was used to adjust its position...

What it looks like to me is part of an old transom window opener, but I didn't see an immediate match online
