Unsure what this is from. Made by D.L. Auld. They made badges for cars and other items. This piece has what appears to be oil residue under magnification so I assume it was car related. Anyone recognize the logo? Measure appx. 1 3/4" across.

R for Radiator! Ive seen this I can't place it. Could be Rockaway? Seems small to be a car badge.

Yeah I was thinking it may be a radiator badge. The r looks familiar to me as well.

The last letter is probably an "O" for Ohio where the company was located.

I did an online search for your badge. At first I thought it might be from an early British-made Raleigh Bicycle, but no.
Date wise from the font, I'd say 1920s - 30s. :icon_scratch:

Excerpt from The D.L. Auld website...

"The original Auld company was founded in 1870 by Demas Auld, a custom jewelry manufacturer. By the early 1900s, Demas had made partnerships with the first automobile companies to start producing decorative enamel nameplate emblems for the new horse-less carriages. The new venture proved lucrative and within a decade, Auld sold the jewelry side of the business to concentrate all his focus on the automobile industry.
By the 1920s, the Auld company was producing 80% of nameplates for the auto industry. With the rising cost of materials, however, Auld had to search for new ways to produce his nameplates. By mid century around the 1940s, the company retooled for the war effort and began producing distinguished service medals and decoy airplanes for the war."

Here are of some of the badges D.L. Auld made in the 1920s.

Thanks for your help. I focused on cars since I assume most bike badges are rounded. Not 100% positive on that though. I was leaning towards on of the hundreds of types of cars made in the 1920's. I've researched about 20 "R" companies so far. The thrill in the hunt!
