✅ SOLVED Small brass two-pronged object

This was dug at a site where all of the finds have dated to the late 1700s through the early to mid 1800s. I feel like I should know what it is but don't have a clue. Quarter for size reference. Thanks

Looks like shoe buckle guts or part of a suspender buckle. Not sure which
