Small gold thing???

Dug this tiny little guy up this weekend around 4 inches down. It's pretty cool looking but have no clue what it is. Any ideas? Thanks for looking!

No, the post doesn't appear to be magnetic. I wonder about the two "wings" on the outside of the piece as well.
