I was detecting on an old home site on some farm land. This was about five inches deep. It has Cincinnati, Ohio stamped on the stock. Any ideas? WWI-WWII? Kind of unique. 12-35 on my ETRAC. Thanks.

Probably between the wars. WWII toy soldiers very rapidly became plastic, and lots of scrap metals were recycled for the war effort, and that includes lead toys.

Possibly had a steel blade protruding from the fore stock and was used as a letter opener. Is there the rusted remnant of a blade on the front end? The bolt action makes me think it is possibly a Model 1903a .30-06 rifle too. It is really cool, congrats!

I agree first half of the 1900's, more specifically, probably WWI era. Now days everything is plastic (though lead toys are slightly toxic so it may not be a good idea)
