After cashing in rejects from the weekend at my dump bank over my lunch hour, I made the first of my two bank coin buy stops for the day.
At the first stop I was planning to pick up a box of dimes and whatever halves they had as this bank almost always has rolled halves. They would only sell me 5 rolls of halves and they were too low on dimes to sell me even one roll unless I came back after 3 pm when their coin delivery was scheduled. As I was waiting for the teller to check the vault for the dimes I spotted a suspiciously dark edged nickel in his tray. Asked the teller when he got back and sure enough a 1945-P War nickel, which I purchased. So still got 1 good coin. The 5 rolls of halves produced squat.
After work, I stopped by a bank shortly before closing time. The vault was closed so I couldn't get any boxes. Instead, I picked up 38 rolls of nickels and 10 rolls of pennies.
The only thing in the pennies was 2 Canadian pennies. One was an old George V penny (1935) that I didn't have yet. Though it's not in great shape due to two large dings in the center.
The nickels produced pretty well for pre-1960, but no great dates.
27 pre-1960 jeffersons (1939(3), 1940, 1941(3), 1941-S (Small S), 1946, 1947, 1948, 1953, 1953-D, 1953-S, 1954-D(3), 1954-S, 1955-D(2), 1956-D, 1957-D, 1958-D(3), 1959-D(2))
The nickel rolls also produced a higher than usual number and variety of foreign coins.
3 Canadian (1986, 1992, 1998)
1 - Mexico, 1 Peso (2003)
1 - Cayman Islands, 10 Cents (1990)
1 - Thailand, 1 Baht (XXXX) (see picture)
1 Game Token (see picture)
BTW, does anyone know which cruise I need to take to spend the game token?
