Kind of been in the doldrums lately across all denominations. This weekend I picked up basically 2 boxes each of pennies, nickels and dimes. Found 2 silver Rosie's, a 1929 Buffalo (Buff's are my favorite CRH find) and 18 wheaties. Not great numbers but I was ecstatic to see the Buffalo as I haven't found much lately. Right now I've gone 7 nickel boxes without a war nickel (no new BU coins to account for the slump). I hadn't found a Buffalo in 7 boxes either. None of the wheats where pre 1940 and I've gone 47 boxes since my last Indian head penny. I was finding one IHP about every $400 but I'm at nearly $1,200 now with no real luck. Dimes have been OK. I'm now over halfway to a wild found silver Rosie collection after only $18K worth of dimes. Oddly I've already found most of the hard dates (BU 1955-P, '55-D, '49-S) but am missing several dates in excess of 100MM mintage. I also have found a '60 proof Rosie.

I did find a great dump set up this weekend so I'll start back on boxes of halves.

I also still lack 4 Jeff's (1939-D, 1943-D, 1945-D and 1950-D). Over the last two weeks I've found '39-S, '48-S, '50-P and '55-P so I'm finding neat coins but no silver and none of the missing dates. I've also gone ~$1,350 since my last proof nickel which is a bit longer than usual.

Been $5,500 worth of dimes since my last merc. I'm not whining too bad here because I have been getting ~1 Rosie per box which is a decent clip for me. If halves don't produce for me I may start putting more time into dimes.

Thus far the move to a new city isn't starting well for CRHing.

Twitch - I live in Southern VA and in my experience I do much better ordering halves from a small bank and using the large banks to dump. I don't know if it is just a coincidence but I get 3 boxes a week and usually pull out at least 10 (more 40% than 90%ers, but I'm not complaining at all. Even got proofs the last 2 weeks. Just something to consider...Brad

Retire05 - Thanks for the advice. I've actually moved twice since I lived in Richmond. I'm with you on the strategy. Now that I'm set up on a good dump set up in my new location I'm going to get a few halves flowing. I always did well with CWR and teller trays in Virginia. Did OK w/ MWR halves.

Thanks,
Joe
