I'm working through $100 in bank-rolled nickels this morning, and I see something dark and kind of thin. I got excited thinking it must be something really old, foreign, obscure, or all of the above. Upon further examination it was just a lincoln memorial cent that looks like it got smashed with a mallet. I guess it was closer in diameter to a nickel than a penny, and the machine dumped it in a nickel bag.

Just wondering how common this is... in bank-wrapped, customer-wrapped, or Loomis/Brinks/etc-wrapped rolls.

*and it will happen more than you want it to.

The best is pennies. All kinds of stuff ends up in penny rolls, and you usually come out ahead. I've gotten quarters in bags of pennies before.

Must of been one of fiddy cent's chewin' cents
