Looking over the maps and doing some measuring. I figured that there was another possibility on a permission.
So after a tilling up the gardens it was time to get a bit of playtime in.
Not a heavily targeted site for finds, but it was for glass, and pipe stems. For the 1/3 acre spead and the amount of eyeball finds it was fun filled couple of hrs.
First target was what looks like a whizzer?
(Seems like a curse as it has happened twice before, first and last good target)

The next hour was nails, iron, one piece of lead. I started to work down the slope
and got a nice sounding 95.

Just broke the soil and it appeared. I could see by the stars and size I had a good one!
Now it needs a like soaking to take off the crust, but no less it was an easy retrieval.

Then another hour before I got the candle snuffer end.

So an ok little scratch the itch from a new site.
First time I've gotten a grey pipe stem.
There's the open pontil ends again. Teasers they are!

Thanks for looking, and best of luck to you all on the next dig.

Thanks Bill
The historical map atlases are great. Usually the site location is what the map indicated.
Though it could be just a barn or another outbuilding. Not always a home.

Great job as always pepper! Congratulations on your half dime!

Congrats on that small silver coin. Enjoy the in-situ pictures also.
Thanks Mike
I really try to take a picture of the find in the dirt.
Then put it in the album of the permission.
Getting to that stage in life "where did I find that?"🤣

Nice ones pepper, cool half dime! That phrase always gets me,I picture a dime cut in two!
Thanks Crash.
Time you get some dirt under those clean fingernails.

Nice hunt. Seated coins are great, and those half dimes are a tough find. Congrats!
