Walked back over to my new circa early 1900s dump in the nearby woods today. As it is overgrown with thick green briars I brought along a pair of shears to cut my way in. Along with a hibernating pine or rat snake I woke from hibernation I found an aqua Ball Perfect mason jar along with several white porcelain mason jar lid inserts and an Atlas glass mason jar lid cover, a Salamandra (TS) Co. Trenton, N.J. beer/liquor bottle, an embossed Atkinson's Bottling Works Mt. Holly, N.J. beer bottle, a Chas. H. Fletcher Castoria bottle, a giraffe embossed Tonsiline bottle, a Musterole Cleveland white milk glass jar, a Mum Mfg. Co. Philadelphia white milk glass jar, a Woodbury's white milk glass jar, a brown Anacin bottle, a Bayer Aspirin Co. bottle, a cast iron Andes OH BOY cap gun, an old iron saddle stirrup, an axe/hammer head, some blue glass Noxzema and Vicks jars, etc. 2.webp2a.webp1.webp3.webp11.webp10.webp9.webp7.webp8.webp4.webp6.webp5.webp

Nice Snake, And the bottles ain't bad ether. Nice Hunt....

Totally nice finds, except for the snake.

My first thought was Milk Snake too, but looking closer, I second the young Rat Snake. Nice markings on it.

the young rat snake like several snakes will change colors somewhat as they get older, we had a handful of them in my wood pile last year, they serve a good purpose. Loved the finds, all of them, looked a great day

Well, good thing I like snakes. Now if it was a spider I'd have to ask you to keep him over in your part of Jersey even though we are only about 15 miles from each other. What do you do with the bottles? Just display them or do people actually buy those?

I display all of my bottles, jars, and relics Oldhead. Here is just one of my display cabinets itself over 100 years old.. And thanks to all for the positive ID on the snake. The markings on both pine and rat snakes are similar.IMG_3659.webp

I’m partial to the blue glass. Nice finds!

Nice bottles and beautiful display. I have found several Fletcher 's Castoria bottles and they are one of my favorites.

Snakes are free food and great tasting.

Love the bottles. I hope you put the little guy back in his home.

Great, people that appreciate snakes. At least it didn't turn into a "kill em all" discussion. Nice snake.
