great picture! those little buggars can be pretty aggresive. they say we have them here in delaware but in all of the years i have been wandering around in the woods i have never seen one in the wild. i hope i never do.

have seen these fellows in (Northern area) Brandywine area and in southern Delaware ( Kent county)

Nice pic, I made a hatband out of a skin once, I was
really proud of it until an Indian said they believed your
body part that touched a skin would 'fall off '.
So I quit wearing it just in case, :P.

Fossis...............
So far, haven't lost my head.

rofl I could barely breathe when I saw that picture....EWWWW then Fossis saves the day with a laugh! Gotta love him! :D

Those bad boys will send a chill up your spine. I've killed 5 in my yard this year.(one was chopped up by the lawn mower yesterday) They were not as big as that one though... I've found 3 ring snakes in the house. I still don't know where they are coming in. I DON'T like those buggers!

What an absolutely beautiful snake. Dangerous? Sure but wow such colors and patterns. Good picture!

Thank goodness it wasn't a belt. ;D Absolutely beautiful pic.

they are aggesive for a snake and kind mean tempoered and very territorial to boot ---plus unlike a rattler no warning buzz --- Ivan

Have enjoyed your snake post's even though I don't like snakes.

I remember one time when I was 5 years old living in eastern Oklahoma, I was playing in the dirt in our yard, poking a stick in a hole in the ground and a copperhead stuck his head out of the hole. I remember my uncle taking a shovel and digging two of the snakes out of the ground and killing them.

I am sure glad that we don't have poisonous snakes out here other than the occasional rattler.
