Snorkle length question.....

Whites Spectrum XLT with about 1/4" of dust on it and can't even remember how t turn it on?!?!?

Prospecting
a couple feet is all, never mind the carbon dioxide building up in the tube,
the pressure of the water on you rib cage will not let you take a breath.

if you're worried about bulk, might getaway with no expansion tank,
hook the hose directly to the compressor...

I used this method in shallow water only.
 

The absolute maximum is 16 inches (1 foot 4 inches). As winners pointed out even at 16 inches you will be putting a lot of effort into breathing as you go deeper.

I tried extending my snorkel with some plastic tubing and had a lot of trouble breathing.
