My grandfather was the same way. We gave him lots of the cheap digital watches. Twenty minutes was the longest any lasted.

In those days you always grabbed a few salt-tabs walking out the door. Always wondered if all the salt caused him to be more conductive.
 
Cast iron cookware can put a high amount of iron in your blood. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.
 
Stories like this make one ask, "If he could find buried gold, silver, and copper, why did he need to be a chauffeur?"

I think my ex-wife got hit in the head a bunch! Except they weren't micro holes.
