Jim, I Think Your Find Is More Likely To ID A Piece Of Equipment, By Unit Number, All The Poker Chips & Game Pieces I Have Found In CW Camps Have Been Made Of Lead, Because It Was Much Easier For The Soldiers To Work With And So Plentiful, Bullets Etc. Just My Two Cents. trk5capt...

trk... Agreed. I have several gaming pieces also... thought someone got a little creative with poker chip for once or wanted somethng stamped. This is Indian War era like all my other pieces.

Michelle... the design you see is where it is stamped with "25".

I imagine this may have been a tag that fit into a slot.

trk... I think you nailed it.

I've researched, and the 25 Infantry was located where I found this whatsit... I'm going with your idea that it was a equipment ID tag of sorts since I've also found the smashed lead poker chips at the same location.

Thanks.
