Hello all

We recently moved to North Texas and finally found time to swing the coil. I was sniffing around an old and rather large oak tree when I got a good solid signal at 6 inches. This is what I pulled out. It is solid copper and about 8 inches in length. I was just wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what it is. See pics.

hi folks. thanks for the responses. The only thing that has me puzzled is that the tip was made with the hook. it was not done by force. I do like the weather vane. any other ideas??????

I thought it was bent by force. However, I have seen lightning rods that are made this way. Here is an example.

BTW Welcome to TN. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,259097.0.html

I just realized that top pic I posted has a very similar bend to it. I guess that about wraps it up. No need to wait for the fat lady to sing.
