Another Carters ink..

Not bad for an hour walk, no digging involved..

Those are the best hunts when you don't need a Shovel. That blob and hutch are beautiful finds. What do you use to clean your bottles?

Depending on where I find them and the condition, I first start out with just plain soap and water and old toothbrush. If there are hard water stains. .lol. I let it soak in CLR. If there are nooks and crannies that I can't read I use that fizzing denture cleaner.

Clean bottles and insulators with Hydrochloric acid or lye bath, soak for 2-5 days, but please never mix the two....takes out heavy rust stains, caked on dirt, train smoke, ect. Mineralization and water stains will have to be removed with a bottle cleaning machine but some collectors don’t like there bottles cleaned.
