Late post, been busy but wanted to get these finds out. We started the morning on a woods hunt looking for pickets, or camps. No luck but dug a few round balls. The river was up so we couldnt try the water like we'd hoped. So we tried a new permission, weve been successful at this spot but on this day i dug two firsts. After a while of digging aluminum nails i worked my way further from the truck, then i dug my first carved bullet. Its very interesting, maybe a game piece. Then i got on what i believe to be a hut site due to all the iron signals. In the mix of it i dug my first bayonete scabard, with some leather still intact. In the same area 2 dropped bullets and a two prong iron fork. After a talk with the owner and viewing some of his 17 year collection we had to go home. After getting home and thinking of his vast collection i needed more so i went to a skirmish site near my home and before dark i dug 1 fired 3 ringer. After a slow morning the day ended well. Just what i needed to rekindle my detecting fire. There are talks of a hut site excavation in the future but for now i cant wait till this weekend.

Really interesting carved bullet you recovered. Excellent find.

very cool finds, the scabbard tip, the carved bullet etc. I would have been thrilled too, congrats on the reboot, now find some more!

Nice work! Very unique CW piece!

Very cool CW relics!! Nicely done!! Congrats and HH

That's a fantastic hunt! All great finds, but too me the carved bullet takes the Cake. That one looks to have some great detail.
My favorite part of a carved bullet is there is no other one quite like it. There may be more there so good luck! [emoji256]

As a northerner I am envious of all ya'lls fantastic relics and stuff. I get some CW finds up here but, not nearly in the quantity as down south. I love all your recoveries in this post BUT, that carved bullet is SO flipping historically cool it would cause me to give out a Rebel Yell!!! To think someone took such great care and time to create that beautiful find with it's aged patina. WOW! Big time congrats on that find of a lifetime. That would be one of my favorite show and tell pieces for all the inquiring minds that want to know what I have been finding. Well done.:icon_salut:

Congrats on the fine CW relics, I really like that carved bullet

Nice finds Riggleman.

Congrats on all of those great relics. I really like that carved bullet. It gives it a personal touch as to the person who did the carving.

Man that Carved piece in truly amazing IMO. Work went into that one , someone def, had some talent.
A banner find IMO.

Your other relics are very nice as well, I still have not found a Scabbard tip.

Thought you would like that one RN.
It's AWESOME!!!

great finds and a great example of persistence paying off -- congrats! :icon_thumright:

Nice digs and a great carved bullet. The guy that carved that was showing out!...d2

That is a really cool carved bullet! congratulations!

Nice carved bullet. Hopefully you cleaned out that hut all the way, the glass is usually in the corners. Nice finds.

You notice it resembles the ARX series ammo a little bit? Some CW soldier was a little ahead of the curve on bullet design I suppose.

The find of the hunt is certainly the carved bullet. That's an awesome one!
