Killer hardstone dog, wish I could find stuff like that in my areas.

I'm only about 100 mi. west of you and we never see those bell pestles here. Not a one. Gary

More pestles
This one is a small roller pestle like tool. Lots of dimples with some smooth surface area.

Well shaped Pestle, found a nice axe very close to it the same day.

My brother and I had walked to the rise and almost immediately I found the axe. After a few minutes I said I was going to walk across the low area to another rise, leaving him on what I considered the best area so he could find something. After searching the other rise I walked back over and asked him what he had found and he had found nothing. Footprints all over the place in the damp ground. circling all over, zig zagging and what not.

I said well what about that pestle right there. He said "what pestle?" I bent down and picked it up and I said "This one right here"
That's the difference between and haphazard and and methodical hunt of a field I thought to myself. He has always hunted that way and has the fewer finds to show for it.
