I looked in Albert's Button book but couldn't find anything remotely similar to your button. That's not to say it isn't a Jackson button, I just couldn't find anything like it. Also, The style looks to modern to be from the Jackson era. I enlarged the back picture and couldn't see any signs of where a shank was applied. You have the button in your hand, can you see where a shank was attached?

fyrffytr1, I looked all the way thru Albert's book also, particularly in the school section and couldn't find anything either. Looking at that construction I would think it has some age on it. Maybe European construction? or school affiliation. Interesting find.

Just to be clear, what are the letters? A O J?

Can you clean it up a bit more to bring out detail?

I think it is/was a lapel pin.

I agree with Matt, this is a lapel pin for an "Association Of J (?) " Now to determine what the "J" stands for. Hard to decipher the artwork at the feet of the eagle but it may hold a clue. Sub 8-)

Is the top letter an O or a C? When I save and enlarge your picture it looks like it may be a C but there is something to the right side of the letter that makes it hard to decipher.

Well - guess can rule out Andy Jackson button - I think the initials are A S U - S over the eagle and a U rather than J based on the lettering style. Is that a date under the eagle? I think I see 22 - but then my eyes are not what they used to be...:dontknow:

Its a C above the eagle. There is no date. Letters are A C J

Any chance there is another letter at the 6 o'clock position? Like an I or L?
