It is heavy and I think it is made of pot metal.It looks like it has a air hole,and I thought it might have went to some kind of lantern because it looks like it has a place for a wick,but I think that piece is solid besides the little groove on top?It is marked 6 or 9 underneath.It looks like it might have plugged or capped something? 006.webp001.webp003.webp007.webp

Now I am kind of wondering if it might of had something to do with a wine/whiskey barrel?

I don't think they use metal plugs on whiskey or wine barrels.

I suspect it is from an oil drum.

What is the white residue on the side? Look like the calcified stuff I see coming out of my water heater.
