need help on this one:

found this token in the yard of a house from 1815 that has produced many colonial coins, foreign coins and large cents ( dated 1690's to present)

the token is 27mm in diameter, and quite thin. looks to be copper.

on one side there appears to be a wreath around the outer border, with nothing that i can make out in the center.

on the other side, there is a seated woman in the center, with the word "token" legible starting at about 2 o'clock. the bar dividing the central image from the date at the bottom of the coin is higher than it would be on a british half penny. i think i can make out a "19" where the last two numbers in the date would be, so i'm guessing the token is from 1819. could be wrong, though.

any help would be appreciated. thanks, dwayne

Looks like a typical 19th century halfpenny token or Condor token as you call them. Hard one to pin down without a little more detail or the right book, which I don't own but someone may have it.

matt and crusader,

thanks for the help. matt, i think you nailed it. the soil is pretty rough on coppers here in upstate ny. can't make out a bust on the obverse, but
i'm glad this one had enough information left on it for identification. thanks again, dwayne
