I think it is the inside of a petrified wood stem, i've seen some before that look like them.

Fossis, thanks for sharing, as always your stuff never ceases to amaze me....WOW.....We do not have that type of quality Fossils in the area I hunt..(Near Austin), or if we do I have never found them....Tom
 
Gallileo60, Go to the Petroleum Museum in Austin, In 1972 they have one of the best collection of fossils Texas fossils I had ever seen. Go north if you want fossils. West of Dallas they have nautiloid ammonites as big as cars. I dug them when I lived in Wichita falls.

Thanks tom, I used to guide the Dallas-Ft. Worth Palentology club to hunt here, they alway found a lot & had a great time, camping at the local State Park, then driving over into Ar to the Coal 'strip pits' to hunt.

Thank you very much, I will go there as soon as I can...I have only got to hunt around Pendernales Falls.....


Fossis, thanks for the tip...I am going to get up that way as soon as the weather permits.....Please keep posting your finds.....Would give anything to find a fern fossil.....Tom
