Fossil or just a rock?

It is about 1.75" long. Rock or fossil?

For what its worth I'm going with a fossil. To much going on to be a natural rock (so I say).

Southeast Texas. On a road mixed in with rock so no way of really knowing where it was originally.

I think there’s signs of fossilization but I’m far from an expert. PM redcoat. He may be able to help👍

I had heard somewhere, if you lick it, your tongue will stick to a fossil more so than a mineral. I don't know though, putting things in your mouth that you find on the ground is probably not advisable! LOL

I did... I ate a potato, carrot and picked up an apply and ATE IT...!
