Some more buttons and militaria. Rev.War.-1812- Canadian Rebellion 1837

Hello again,

Just to continue with the post I started this morning. Some more buttons and militaria from my recent hunts around Montreal.
Some are from the Rev War, others 1812 and Canadian Rebellion of 1837
Also a numbered musket butt stock(around 1837), a regiment number plate(around 1837),a sash belt whistle lion's head (no latter than 1812),a trench art playing dice made out of a musket ball (not latter than 1812).

These are some very beautiful and high class artifacts you are posting.

I am not very familiar with the revolutionary war stuff, and Canadian history in general, and so I am not sure of what exactly a lot of this stuff is.

I would not mind it if you went on a lengthy tangent about some of these finds, regimental histories, etc. Or even if a guy with a button book decides to go crazy and describe everything for us.

Finally, what sort of odd games did the soldiers play in those ancient woods which would require a die with 9 divots to a face?

Actually I have found one even stranger with the British Broad Arrow (same as on cannon balls) on every side pointing to different directions. Have no idea of the games they were paying. Maybe were just carving some random stuff from boredom.
As for the militaria I can say that the King's Dragoon Regiment,67th, 71st and the silver plated Montreal Riflemen (militia) participated in the suppression of the French Canadian Rebellion of 1837-1839 against the British. To tell the truth,i'm not a big connoisseur of the war of 1812-Rev. War perhaps Iron Patch can help as he helped me ID and date the Rev.War and 1812 ones.

Just a small correction, the lion head seems to be a chin strap attachment. Finally got the info as I had a hard time ID it.

Nice finds, it looks like you have a good spot, I have come a cross a lumbering village from the 1860s time period, just fields now, all I need is the big yes to detect, keep the finds coming.
