Left for work a little early and got some detecting time in. I dug two first for me.........

First is a Chinese coin. I am trying to figure out denomination, and year......so far it is looking like late 1800's, which I would say is possible because there were a lot of Chinese miners around this area at that time. If anyone knows these coins, any info would be appreciated.

Second is a trade token. I drive thru Yakima often, and will locate the address next time I am down there. Token looks old, so I am sure that company is long gone. Today was my first time on this site, and I can't wait to get back tomorrow morning.......I'll post pics, and you'll understand why!

Paul

I don't know Paul but I'll be in China Saturday and if I can get my translator at my lap top I'll ask him if its Chinese or Japanese. Never confuse the two, they can't stand one another. Reminds me I have a couple of those coins too with the square holes, I'll have to take mine and show him if I remember to pack the darn things.

Thanks Charlene, that would be great. I am 99% sure it is Chinese. I have found pics of Chinese coins that have the same words on them, just not all the same ones on one coin.

Paul

Have a good trip

I remember I was with you ;D

Nice finds Paul, I love the Yakima coin.

Cool finds!

I grew up living (and detecting) in Yakima, so I really like that token.

I think that Stockmans is now gone. In the mid 1980s you could still play pool there, on fabulous old carved Brunswick tables that dated to about 1905. My father told me that he used to play pool there with his father back in the 1950s.

The fact that the token does not list the town as 'North Yakima' dates it to post 1917.
