Some of Y'all , neen to COOL it !!
Sorry , I meant to say , “Hay Y’all , why don’t you stay cool and find some points ? Summer, heats coming up and the rivers are going down [I hope! ] . And it sounds like many on this forum are leaving there fields , until fall . The time for the shore- hunters , the shaded creeks , the poison-oak and a million or so little nasty’s ... good hunt’n . But lets face it, it’s all about the pic’s ... the in-situ , now not to offend any field hunters , but your points are ,errr.. Just laying on the dirt , even a blind pig can see ‘em ! But these in-situ , with a point in some river or lake gravel let alone in a shell bed , a bit of water , Ahhhh... that’s a pic.
I’ve done a bit of shore-collecting , on the Missouri river out in South Dakota , legal years ago to collect below the high water line , I believe that has since changed . I never found much ,caught some nice Walleyes , it could get into the high ninety’s with 90% hum. Not “cool” . I did try [one day ] my hand at screening lake gravel , floating a sieve on an inner-tube found a lot of chips but no tools , but a cool day ! But in hind-sight, I wish I had a mask and snorkel, I could have half -floated on that inner-tube in3-4 ft. water and walked that shore line , that would have been way COOL !
I don’t know when I’ll get back to Iowa , but I think I’ll bring a face mask , snorkel , wet-suit ,ice-pick ...etc. So if any of you shore- hunters take the next step , into the water, I’d like you to know that they sell disposable- under water cameras at Wall-Mart, think of it.....under-water in-situ pic’s , how COOL is that
