Some old finds that's been hiding in my car. Maybe a tiny coin???

Here are some things that have been in my car for months, starting clockwise with the Beer tap; scabbard band, oval brass ring, fake ring, #5 tag, ??, two brass washers, Shirley button, three buckles, two rivets, roundball, base to Williams cleaner, buckle pieces, fork. The tiny coin is on the bottom.
It is the same size of a silver 3 cent. Any ideas? Thanks, Ryan.

But it isn't silver, right? Is it copper? How thick is it?

I see a tiny indented circular line, which coins do not have, so I believe it is a 1-piece brass flatbutton whose loop detached entirely from the button's back. (The Introduction section of the McGuinn-&-Bazelon book on button backmarks says early American button-makers had trouble getting to loop to stay attached to 1-piece brass buttons.)

Thanks, there was really nothing to go on in identifying it as a coin, besides something that looks like a star at the top on the first pic. but a button makes more since. I've dug plenty of those thinking for sure it was a coin until i saw that shank or place where a shank was. Thanks again.

Any info on the beer tap?

There is none coming out of it...

Back to the "coin"...

TCG makes a good point about the buttons with missing shanks. You can almost see a divot in the center of the first pic.

That said, early 19th C 1 pfennigs and some pfennig jetons were 14mm. But there is nothing to indicate your relic is a coin.
