The miner pick was found stuck in a crotch of a tree, I worked it very slowly and was amazed when it came out intact. It is 15" long and is mean looking:happysmiley: The railroad spike came from the Kinzua Bridge after it collapsed. The broken bolt is my personal favorite. I tripped over this piece of junk for years on my way to my favorite fishing hole and always threatened to bring a hack saw and cut it off. It was part of a slab of an old tank foundation. The last time I tripped on it I took a rock and gave it two light taps and it snapped right off. Who knew.:tongue3:

I thought for sure the end in the tree would break. How old do you think it is.

Cool finds for sure...............................................HH

I would say at least mid 19th Cent.......................

The area I found it is in Western PA, someone must have found it before me and stuck it in the tree because it was only in a few inches. I didn't think it was that old, I have never cleaned or treated it with anything. Thanks for the info.
