I got to Searching through old maps online, discovered that there was a shipyard, warehouse, and later a railroad spur at a site I had given a short search before.
Was driving by on my way to a job and decided to stop 'For a minute'
Ended up giving it a half hour.
I first looked the site over, thinking Where would the coins be lost??
I decided to concentrate on the landward edge of the docks.
All the years of activity here, I know theres lots more than the late seated dime I found.
the condition of the tombac is amazing, 200 years or so, still shiny with a strong shank.
Hand engraved luggage tag, CJ Tyler NH.
Got an invite later in the afternoon to search a 1720s house teardown.
the cellar has had all the dirt removed :'(
Found just 2 lamp burners, & a wheat cent & other junk, left for owner.
Wish I had my Etrac, the site needs TTF.
thanks for Looking! HH all

Great finds today Herbie! :icon_thumright:

The 1720's property sounds like there are more treasures yet to be found!
The old dockyard site looks very promising!
I wonder what finds are hidden under these dock boards? :icon_scratch:

Take care buddy,
Dave

Dawg, I think you got the money on that ID :notworthy:
This place saw a lot of activity, I am now just cleaning the junk from the surface,
Finds all dating around turn of the century.
Older stuff beneath I am sure..
Best Digs
