Some sort of gold plated hair clip?

Hi guys this was found on our field in Hertfordshire, England. weve had Roman coins and Saxon artifacts finds on this field all the way up too early 1800s, just curious to know if anyone can give me any info on it

That's a beautiful piece Rob.
Unfortunately, your pictures are too small to allow me to expand them to see the back attachment for dating purposes.

But I'm thinking horse furniture, possibly saddle decoration.

it's a brooch. based on the pin hinge and catch, I'd say it's probably 1930's - 40's
