Found this a couple of days ago.

Has dates "1861 VETERAN 1866" "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC"

other side, among other things says "BOSTON" didn't want to clean it much more till I know what it is.

Also found this square knob thing.

It does have a date of 1904 (I think) in the inner circle. looks like a big party ?

The other objects look like finials. Can't see the bottom of the cylindrical one. Is it threaded inside?

GAR * MEMBER --Grand Army of the Republic (union army vets of the civil war) --maybe 1904 meeting was in boston? they would holdgiant get togethers sort of like a giant frat group, would have. --these types of medals were given to those who "attended" the meetings .

DirtDigger, finials OK, the round cylindrical one is an ox knob, first one of those I've found.
