Hey everyone I found this in an area I have neglected to detect due to the remoteness. Not quite sure what it is but it reminds me of some tool or scraper. Perhaps horses or wood-working. Everything is quite deep and toasted. Also found a splitting wedge in proximity. Any help would be appreciated! That is not a hoof scraper. I wish those pieces could talk.

Can you remove the oxidation? It looks metal underneath. Maybe that would help.

The reality John, is that you may never know exactly what this piece came from? :icon_scratch:

I've got a buckle full of these 'mystery finds' in my basement workshop. :laughing7:

It looks like an old-school line clamp to me.

Thanks for all the replies ya'll. I guess things like this will always remain enigmatic. Too corroded and mangled. Wil continue the search.
