Need help please, I found this today by a tiny creek near chicago... Wondering if this is just a stone or a Keeper...I always find lots of chips.. Thanks For Looking...
BILLT
Yes, it is a tool (knife) and a pretty nice one

Built46, Yeah man, That's a keeper. It's a worn out ol' knife, but it's a knife for sure. Seeing chips and flakes keeps your eyes trained for the right thing. It's bound to come along eventually. Congrats !! Lone Star

Nice find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You Everyone..
I Appreciate the Help very much, I thought at best I had a broken arrowhead... Had no idea a knife would be so small, It was laying on top of the ground 2 feet from a trail with a hundred bottlecaps and pulltabs around it.. I must have walked over this a dozen times in the past few years... DO I clean the moss off or should I leave it alone?...
Thanks, BILLT

Yep, a keeper. Shows evidence of flaking, also appears to have been in the water for a while with the smoothed edges. Good eye, good find.

cleaning is up to you, but most collectors clean with water and a tooth or hand brush, that is all i use have been collecting over 50 years!
