some weird ring, maybe for clothing ?

hello Tnet, found a weird buttonlike ring today,
I found it in a forest where i've found a lot of lead seals and stuff like that.
I've got no idea what its made of. but it aint heavy.
any ideas ?

Looks like a tent grommet. Or from any type of canvas bag, clothing, etc...

I am thinking grommet also. Is it brass? Does it have two pieces so canvas or cloth or plastic have been sandwiched between them?
