It's not super strong but will hold a magnet I thought iron core also but it has more of a rock material and it will flake like flint would when makeing spear points . Also where broke a price off it has no rust

Can you do a streak test on the black area? it looks like a decent sized rock so if it is an Iron ore it should be quite heavy/dense.
