No that is not good. When I sold my lastbatch silver was at 14.25. i GOT 1.62 FOR 40%, AND 9.2 X FACE ON THE 90%.
SILVER IS DOWN A LITTLE BUT NOT THAT MUCH.

I got 1.50 each for my 40 percent halves when silver was at 13.00, so no, thats not a good deal. Call around to some coin shops and see who will pay the most. I only have 3 around me, so I'm kinda limited. Probably coulda got more elsewhere, but then I'd have to pay shipping, so I'm OK. :)

about average. silver is bouncing in the 12 to 13 dollar range. coins are 90 percent content, refiners pay maybe 90% of spot for them. so now we are at a net gain for the person of 81% spot. not including insurance postage etc etc. and of course they need to make some cash from it as well to make it worth while... so this makes silver at 13 dollars... a dollars worth of coin at face value is worth about 10.53..

just remember, what someone tells you someting is worth, and what you are actually able to sell it for are two entirely different worlds.

Oooh that diamond ring is worth 5 grand.... yet the best you are able to get anywhere is 3 grand.... guess what... the things really worth 3 grand...

i was reading the newspaper this afternoon and saw in the wanted section... gold and silver skyrocket! now paying 800%! 8 times face value for silver coins. there paying $4 for 1964 and before half dollars, $2 for quarters, 0.80 for dimes, and $1 for 40%ers. is that a good deal? i don't crh for halves yet, but i need to make plans for when i do order boxes. :)
the coin shop where my Bro lives pays 10% below melt. $1.50 for 40% and $4.50 for 90%. That guy is hoping to catch a sucker.

Sounds about average or a little low. Except the %40ers---that's WAY below average. $1.50 to $1.75 is pretty typical, not one dollar.

Heck, if I were doing it myself, I would offer something like 2 X face for 40% and 4 X face for 90%.

But then, I am not looking to compete with coin dealers. I am sure there are people who know nothing about coins who would be only too happy to get those kind of rates.

Numismatic in Louisville, Ky usually gives 1.70 for 40 % and around 4.25-4.50 for 90%
Some of the best prices I've heard yet.
