New field, new finds😆 Himself detected this blade. After that excitement, we settled into a full day detecting. some lovely buttons, some different lead things (?) crotal bell top, thimble top and something that looks like a ring? Fits my finger perfectly! we picked up this stone, just because it was so unusual, completely round… possibly natural, but has a nice feel to it, so we brought it home! Xx

Am I correct in assuming that the blade is made of bronze?

Very Cool!!!! Congrats!!!!

Bronze age dagger, stone cannonball, ring.
Simply guessing on my part.
But I hope it's close.
Congratulations on your keepers on today's hunt.

Love your finds. The dagger is way cool. Love the round rock also. Is it roughly 6" in diameter or close by. Could the round stone possibly been used to grind grain up, sorts of a hand mill using another dished stone to hold the grain & roll round stone over grain to mill it down. The natives in my area used something real similar 100's of years back.

The stone looks natural to me, I see lots of them in the field. Its a kind of flint type nodule. They are somehow formed naturally round. I find quite a few on Roman Sites & wonder if the kids found them & played with them, or they could be used as a crude weapon.

Yeap a Bronze Age Dirk, circa 1500BC. We have had Spear bits & Axe bits & 1 complete Axe but never a Dirk. Near complete - a great find.
Thanks Crusader! He will be made up, as I told him it was just a Victorian letter opener 😉😂😂 xx

I don't keep all those natural ball/rocks but I know Land-Mag has collected a few. I did keep this one as it was super round compared to some of the others. They vary in size, & this is a smaller version; (although most seem to be of a similar size to the OP's)

That's pure jealousy. 🤣
Top shelf recovery that is, congrats to him.
