Forgot to post this when I found it, but came across it tonight after I was putting todays finds away.

When it came out of the ground, it was folded in on itself twice, so had to unfold it to see if anything was left on it. Luckily, it didn't break when I unfolded it, and it still had alot of the original color on it to boot.

How often have you found an old license plate? This one is a 1955 Nebraska plate.

That's too funny! I just found two Michigan 1933 plates today under the snow and about 6 inches of dirt. They were stacked together. I'll get a post up with pics later today.

That's pretty cool..... That's the first license plate I've ever seen found by a detectorist.... Would love to know the story of how & why it ended up in the ground !!!

I found an old 50s NJ plate lately. I'll post a pic soon.

I'm not sure how or why it got where it was found at, but the park it is in, was once an old WW II Air Base, with about 10,000 guys stationed there at one time. For the most part, the old base is gone now. The area I've been searching is now a soccer field, but at one time was the "parade grounds". It was probably on an serviceman's car at one time. But that is just a guess.
