I was doing the happy dance all afternoon ;D ;D Had to get out of the house, even if it was cold. I just scooted around my yard, in the area of my son's sand box (23 years ago) I found the toy gun. Then to another area of the side yard, I found a 1988 nickel and it was deep...I measured 5 1/2", then I got a beep, beep, chime, chime every noise a MD makes...I started digging and about 2 1/2" this popped up. I'm thinking it's a earring, a dangling one. It had 2 stones that popped out while cleaning, a total of 4 that matched the one at the top. I don't know if it's old, it does look hand crafted...you be the judge. I was thrilled finding 2 different things besides clad & rusty, crusty iron. :D

RR,

neat finds; glad you were able to get out.

How big is that earring? Strange looking.

Thanks for posting.

have a good un...........................

SWEET! I love the toy, I'm curious about the dangly thing? :-\ I wish I could get out, I miss digging nails! Go Girl!

Great Finds. What type metal in the earring. Looks like wire wrapping & brading.

River Rat!! That earring is awesome! Looks victorian to me (but, I do wear glasses). It definetly looks handmade, twisted wires and details... nothing about it looks manufactured! Cool find.

What do you think it's made of?

Victorian dangle chandelier earring?

It seems ladies in the 1880's could make their own from base metals or order them from catalogues.

That would be my guess. ;)

Nice gun too!

Neat finds, I found a toy gun yesterday.

Fossis.........................

AWESOME RR!! You go girl. The pistol is a nice find and the earring too. The stone looks to be jade?

No clue on the metal. It does have the filigree design.

It is strange looking! I just measured & dropped this fragile thing. The stone in the top part fell out and 3 wires fell off. :'( Double checking those "stones" they're a little bigger than a straight pin head, but they all not the same shape. Does look like jade. The whole thing measures 2 1/2" from top to bottom, with the larger base at 1" wide.

Very beautiful find .....what does the back of the flower part look like?

Looks very old River, and interesting find indeed. I'm glad you were able to stretch your legs a bit, hopefully spring will grace us with its arrival soon.

RR that ear ring is too cool!!! Like the gun too. WTG ;D

RR that looks like an East Indian design. My wife has a pair of earrings that are very similar to yours except where yours has coils dangling hers has flat blades. Hers test 22k gold they have the same coloration as yours shows in the pic.

Awesome finds RR, your son's play gun is a great treasure! Nice hunt and HH, Mike

Here ya go RR I was not right the design aint the same or even close sorry I hadn't seen em for a while.

22k earring.webp

NEAT RR! Two GREAT finds! Does Jay remember the toy gun?

Congrats on your finds! Nana :)

Bill - the 3 tiers makes it similar, thanks for posting the pic for me. :D

Nana - Yes, Jay did remember the gun...he's 1st words "Momma, you found my gun". He cocked it and broke the spring. Kids will be kids even when they're 27 years old. ;D ;D

Thanks for all the nice comments and replies everybody. :D

;) RR
