This hobby will be the death of me yet!

They were saying the four letter word again, so I decided another walk around the mansion was in order. The "fix" I get there lasts a lot longer than a regular walk.

So, I go. Considering that this is one extremely "dry hole" anymore. I was feeling pretty good finding a nice couple of pieces!

Notice this? The one on the left,
(1941), I found the last time out. The Buffalo nickel? About 10 yards away!! :dontknow:
Odd!!

Anyway, I digress.

So, finished with my walk, I stopped by the store to get supplies so I could batten down the hatches.

On the way out?

I check the coin machine, (this one has been particularly dry lately too). But...this time?

I found all this!!

Three hour walk and *ONE* coin!! Two second scoop? And all that!! I should just turn in my AT!!

I think Fishy's got his priorities in order! ;)

A pretty Canadian day......eh? :tongue3:

Welp...seems that everyone's happy. Even me!
Fix is in, got supplies, guess I'm set for a while.

Thanks for the peeks!

( by the by...for those who need something to get by until Spring. Take a peek at the link in my signature. Plenty to read and a good way to pass the time. :) )

That was a good and congrats on the finds. I found nothing today because of the frost and snow I didn't try

Congratualtions on the nice finds! :occasion14:

Good stuff there. A lot better than I've been doing lately. Congrats!

Yes, nice stuff and as long as you get out, that's what counts. I just like playing in the dirt. I also hate the four letter word.

Yeah, Cat,

Doing is soooo much better than not. :)

Snow today but calling for 50 again soon. Who knows?

Thanks!

That's quite the coin stsr haul.
Nothing shabby at the mansion either, nice old stuff and especially peace of mind.

You certainly are pushing back winter and making finds!
Congrats!

Your silver score is rising, doesn't matter from wince it came.
Still getting old coins from the ground especially such a well hunted place is magic in it's self!

And pleasing everybody takes talent. 👍

I hope the four letter stuff by-passes you or at lest is there and gone shortly.

This must be a record for winter detecting for you!

Nicely done!

Yep as of yesterday yet, It was a Skating rink here.
Everywhere a Half inch or more of Ice.
Now it's all Covered in Snow.
Starting tomorrow add the Sub Zero Temps to the Mix :(

Glad you at least can Get out

Over the years I've been pretty fortunate during winter. That plus a bit of experience in identifying what soils tend not to freeze as quickly as the rest. I've found that some very deep, very rich ones. Made that way by the most natural of fertilization and a bit of sun exposure, seems to work best.

But, of course, ice/snow? Game enders. At least for a while. And...that's what I'm getting now. Sure...I could try deep woods. But even they freeze at subzero temps! :dontknow:

Just have to wait and see.

Thanks!

Nice save's there Whadi!! I'm with you,Sunday supposed to be around 50+!!!.

Better than my hunts lately also

*Sigh*.....at least you're able to dig some. My dumpster has been frozen to Mother Earth for 2 weeks and I'll have to get an axe out to free it up to be dumped.
Congrats on the hunt and the Coinstar score!

Fishy likes the Roosevelt. Since February, our snow month, is upon us, I'm taking the big silver bird this year to warmer climes to dig dig dig dig till March comes and my farm thaws. Short trips. Not the whole blasted month!

A variety of finds. Good job!

Nice silver Rosie!

Ya know, I'd always dreamed of retiring one day and just travel the country in search of finds. Maybe get a big "silver bird" of my own and just enjoy the rest of the time I have left. But, alas, this too was just something else that reality crushed down on. I grew up and that pipe dream burst in my life as well. :dontknow:

Good luck!

Nice little Nickel Silver knife.
