I brought back some black sands and fines from California and looked at them under the microscope.

I love doing this and wanted to share some pictures with you. Hope you like 'em as much as I do. I did not reset the time stamp correctly. Pictures were taken 27th Sep 2019

Enjoy!!!

Hi, that is really interesting and nice. :icon_thumright: Some nice colors there

Wow that's really cool. Thanks for sharing it's crazy what a microscope can bring out

Nice! Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful assortment of minerals! Look at all the different colors and forms! I see a couple of perfect cubes. I wonder what mineral can withstand the beating and maintain a relatively perfect cubic shape. Flourite? Pyrite? Great pics!

Thanks for posting the photos, Horst! There are some really nice stones there.

Revisiting, it would be interesting to see what fluoresces under ultraviolet light.

very good point Tuberale I just tried to turn the light of the microscope off (it's nighttime in Germany now) and use external black light but it does not work properly. Anyhow, I enjoy looking at the black sands and fines I take home. I wish I would find some of those Minerals as a bigger Piece.

really cool, congrats! :occasion14:
