Sons of Veterans CW Medal

Found this last week hunting a new spot. I originally posted in the "what is it" forum first. The way the dirt was encrusted on the medal I thought it was a high impact round from modern rifle until the land owner washed it off and showed me. I was happy and learned to double check everything. Medal says 1888 on the back. Interesting to find at a site that was a Civil War hospital. Makes you wonder if the family came back to visit the area.

That's a real cool find.You could probably Google it and find a lot about it.sounds like you have a super great spot there to hunt since there was an civil war hospital there I'd hit it hard.keep us posted on the finds from there.way to go buddy.
